2020-06-30 Kibana upgrade from 7.5 to 7.8 failed and we lost the Kibana index (which contains index patterns, dashboards, saved searches, etc)
As part of this change: #2346 (closed) Elasticsearch was successfully upgrade to 7.8.0
. As the next step, Kibana was upgrade to 7.8.0
, but the upgrade failed when rolling over the index behind the .kibana
alias.
Unfortunately, Elastic Cloud doesn't allow us to roll back to 7.5
.
The .kibana
alias is currently pointing to .kibana_3
so that it at least starts.
One potential solution might be to spin up another 7.5 ES cluster, restore .kibana_2
from the latest snapshot, perform an update in that secondary cluster and then copy the index that will be created to the production logging cluster.
