2024-11-29: GDK Sentry 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
Customer Impact
None, Sentry is an internal error-tracking tool. Internal customers (engineers) sometimes are not able to access the https://new-sentry.gitlab.net/ or send errors to it.
Current Status
We have identified that sentry is getting spammed with JWT::DecodeError and is overloading or sentry instance.
We have started filtering out this error until Avoid reporting error in Sentry for known failures (gitlab-org/gitlab!174290 - merged) is deployed to production.
Next steps
-
Wait for Avoid reporting error in Sentry for known failures (gitlab-org/gitlab!174290 - merged) to be deployed to production -
Remove filter added in https://new-sentry.gitlab.net/settings/gitlab/projects/gitlabcom/filters/data-filters/ (requires admin account) -
Verify that the number of JWT::DecodeErrorhas gone down -
Revert gitlab-com/gl-infra/k8s-workloads/gitlab-helmfiles!6603 (merged)
