2024-03-20: Increase in errors for canary web service
Customer Impact
A single user getting 503 errors when scraping a repository.
Current Status
A single user is sending multiple requests to one endpoint, resulting into FindTag
and FindCommit
in Gitaly. We have small rate limits for FindTag
which results in 503 upstream.
The FindTag
RPC call was added in gitlab-org/gitlab#429523 (comment 1819749403) which correlates by 2 days when we started seeing this issue. In #17737 (comment 1824885826) we are looking into how to reduce calls to FindTag
.
