2023-10-11: absent metrics for 30+ minutes
Customer Impact
No customer impact - there was an issue with observability as our monitoring was not reporting some of the metrics which caused the loss of 3 hours of metrics.
Current Status
Some of the production metrics are missing (as seen in Grafana for example). Investigation is in progress on what caused that.

🕗 Timeline
- 7:00 UTC - First reports of missing metrics
- 8:00 UTC - Continued investigation of Thanos service - metrics are still missing in Grafana
- 9:00 UTC - Attempt to resolve the problem by reverting the MR. We'll check-in in 30 minutes to validate if this attempt worked.
- 9:45 UTC - The fix resolved the issue and metrics are now being collected. There is a total loss of 3 hours of Thanos-originating metrics (unable to confirm if 100% of these metrics or only some at this point due to the amount of metrics).
