Spin up Container Registry in a k8s cluster inside of the pre environment
As a first step towards replacing stateless services installed with omnibus package with containers inside of our infrastructure, we are looking for testing how the registry service behaves when attached to the existing GitLab installation.
To achieve this, we will:
-
Spin up a kubernetes cluster - manually as we want to investigate improvements to our existing methods of creating clusters -
Install the registry using our existing helm charts - It would probably be easier to create the necessary template files from helm and simply run
kubectl apply -f
on the output
- It would probably be easier to create the necessary template files from helm and simply run
-
Connect this registry to the existing gitlab pre installation -
Validate we can interact with this registry
