Add a command to verify if there are deployments in progress
During yesterday's rollback demo, we realized we don't have a straightforward way to tell if there's a deployment in progress. The approaches we normally take are:
- Execute the
auto_deploy status
command. This one triggers production checks that return information about the production environment being locked. However, this doesn't answer our question about having ongoing deployments:- Production environment being locked is slightly different than an ongoing deployment. The production environment can be locked because a production deployment was canceled, in this case, the output will return that there's a production deployment in progress but technically there's not.
- This command also doesn't return any information about canary nor staging.
- Manually check the
#announcements
Slack channel. - Manually review the deployer pipelines.
Perhaps it's time to have a command that tells us if there are deployment in progress for any of our environments.
