How do you feel about your cross-stage awareness and visibility?
Problem to Solve
I spend a significant amount of time reading and consuming other stages' direction pages to get up to speed on the most important pieces of work these groups are thinking of. I still feel like I don't always grasp the most important things and would like to be able to create connections for integrated experiences between groups without so much effort. Also, in the Product Weekly, David was seeking ways to share more about each stage or group's activities.
Proposal
A task of Product Directors is annual product section reviews, and in preparation for possibly owning this task as a part of their career progression, GMPs could do stage direction reviews quarterly.
Modeling after the UX Showcase, once per month for 50-minutes, 4 stage groups would have the:
- GMPs or (PMs in single-stage groups) spend 5 minutes walking through the top-level stage priorities over the next 6 months 1
- A PM from each stage will be showcased to spend 3-5 minutes walking through a deep dive topic of interest or demo
- We would end the call with 5 minute Q&A (leaving 5 minutes for intros and overflow time)
