This first version of the library was written on a nice December day
in Marrakech, during the Mirage retreat kindly un-organized by Hannes
Mehnert, thanks to the kindly presence of Ximin Luo -- I also found
a minor bug in the testsuite included in his specification, which
should now be fixed :-)
