Implementation of scaling options
For example, the options that are available in Gnome Tweaks wherein, upon selecting a background, one is prompted to select a scaling option ("Adjustment") as well: "Centered," "None," "Scaled," "Spanned," "Stretched," "Wallpaper," or "Zoom." This is the native behavior of both macOS and Windows for as long as I can remember, and I think Gnome had this option previously. I'm certain other desktop environments have this feature as well.
This is very helpful if a wallpaper's resolution differs from the monitor's resolution or with a vertical wallpaper. My setup contains 1 vertical and 1 horizontal monitor, and unless the wallpaper I set for the vertical monitor is a vertical wallpaper itself, it defaults to the "Zoom" scaling option, with no way to choose another option (to my knowledge), so if the image is horizontal, it will simply zoom in to the image until the height fits the monitor's height, making the image very grainy from the resolution loss.
