Among other things, it propagates X-Flatpak-RenamedFrom into the appstream, which is needed for the GNOME Software dropdown that lets you choose the source instead of duplicating the apps. (coming in 3.32 https://blogs.gnome.org/kalev/2018/09/28/gnome-software-mini-hackfest/)
