What does this MR do?

Fixes some problems from !735 (merged) discovered after its beta deployment

Bugs that should be fixed

Please either link someone who knows more about the problem, or include enough text so that others can understand the problem :)

• filter settings break displaying all forum updates @ChrisOelmueller
• fa-comments as filter icon for forums should be replaced
• apparently some data is incomplete: try to handle missing desc better
• stores as source weren't displaying anything
