New app: Ethic APK Guard
Required
- The app complies with the inclusion criteria
- The original app author has been notified (and does not oppose the inclusion) — Submission by the upstream author (public account jpi59).
- All related fdroiddata and RFP issues have been referenced in this merge request
- Builds with
fdroid buildand all pipelines pass - There is an issue tracker and contact info of the author so that we can report bugs and contact the author.
Strongly Recommended
- The upstream app source code repo contains the app metadata (summary/description/images/changelog/etc) in a Fastlane or Triple-T folder structure
- Releases are tagged and auto update is enabled (v0.1.2 tagged,
AutoUpdateMode: Versionenabled).
Suggested
- External repos are added as git submodules instead of srclibs
- No reproducible-build claim is made; standard build signed by F-Droid.
- Multiple apks for native code — Not applicable (no native code).
Reviewer notes
The app performs local package/signing/permission comparisons and can hand one reviewed APK to Android's system installer after explicit confirmation. It does not install silently, uninstall an existing app, upload APKs, or enumerate/transmit an installed-app inventory. APKS/XAPK containers are recognized and declined because split-package installation is not implemented in this release.
The optional public lookup is limited to F-Droid's package API, metadata repository, and reproducible-verification records. Absence of a record is presented as unknown, not as a safety certification. The release source is intentionally conservative and welcomes review of the package-install permission and the app's distinct value.
