New app: AndCode
AndCode is an open-source coding-agent runner for Android (MIT license), maintained at https://github.com/yuga-hashimoto/and-code by its author (me).
Required
- The app complies with the inclusion criteria
- The original app author has been notified (and does not oppose the inclusion)
- All related fdroiddata and RFP issues have been referenced in this merge request
- Builds with
fdroid buildand all pipelines pass - There is an issue tracker and contact info of the author so that we can report bugs and contact the author.
Strongly Recommended
- The upstream app source code repo contains the app metadata (summary/description/images/changelog/etc) in a Fastlane or Triple-T folder structure
- Releases are tagged and auto update is enabled
Suggested
- Enable Reproducible Builds
- Multiple apks for native code
Notes
- Adds a Firebase-free
fdroidproduct flavor built specifically for this submission: no Google Play services / Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics code paths (seeapp/src/fdroid/). - The native runtime payload is built from source.
proot,libtallocandlibandroid-shmemare compiled from the pinnedTermuxPackagessrclib with the NDK (build-package.sh, arm64-v8a and x86_64) instead of downloading prebuilt.debfiles. The Gradle build then reads that local output (andcode.sourceNativeLibs=true). - Reproducible build: the release workflow compiles the same source payload and publishes
and-code-vX.Y.Z-fdroid-release.apk, whichBinaries:/AllowedAPKSigningKeys:verify.check apkpasses against v1.2.27. - AntiFeatures:
NonFreeAdd— the app can install and run proprietary agents at runtime (claude-codefrom downloads.claude.ai, Google'sagy). Neither is required for core use.NonFreeNet— running agents talks to hosted, non-free LLM provider APIs; the app also calls the GitHub and GitLab APIs and Google OAuth for Antigravity. The optional GitHub OAuth sign-in is disabled in this build.TetheredNet— the optional, opt-in Vosk wake-word model is only ever fetched from alphacephei.com.
- v1.2.27 also fixes a missing
libtalloc.soin v1.2.26 (the packaging script pinned a libtalloc SONAME that stopped matching after the 2.5.0 update), which could have kept the on-device runtime from starting.
