Play Store is trying to downgrade RetroArch (and potentially other apps?) installed from F-Droid
- Device OS and version: Android 10
- Device model/manufacturer:
- F-Droid version (in the About screen): 1.18.0
- F-Droid privileged extension version (if installed):
What did you do? (clear steps if possible)
- Make sure that RetroArch is not installed. And if it was installed, make sure to Uninstall it (not just remove it)
- Install
RetrArch
(version 1.16.0, 23.5 MB) from F-Droid - Open Play Store and go to "Manage app & device -> Update all", and then click on "See details":
What did you expect to see?
That Play Store should not try to update RetroArch at all.
- If I install PPSSPP (current version 1.1.1.0) from F-Droid, then Play Store will not try to update it (current Play Store version of PPSSPP is 1.16.6)
- If you run this vice versa: Uninstall RetroArch, install it from Play Store, and then update apps in F-Droid, then F-Droid is not trying to update RetroArch.
- If you download retroarch.apk from https://www.retroarch.com/?page=platforms and install it, Play Store will not try to update it.
Is this an issue for RetroArch specifically, or will Play Store try to downgrade other apps (with higher version number than Play Store) that already have been installed from F-Droid? I don't know such apps except RetroArch, so I could not evaluate that.
What did you see instead?
Play Store is trying to downgrade RetroArch: Downloading RetroArch (1.9.12, 127 MB), but fails to install it:
