alert user about poor QR support when camera does not have autofocus

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, which has a camera that does not support autofocus. That makes it useless for scanning QR Codes. It just really totally fails to scan any under normal light conditions. Users on devices without autofocus should be at least warned, but perhaps the "Open QR Code Scanner" should not even be shown.
