Bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones containing at least two genes associated with the elongated berry quantitative trait locus (QTL) were sequenced using Pacific Biosciences (PacBio) technology. In order to reveal the sequence identity of both homologous genes, the BAC library was filtered, assembled and characterized. The challenge in this case was that due to a technical problem sequencing of separated BACs was done without barcodes, so the sequences that made up both paralog genes (or alleles) are mixed. To focus on the investigated genes we follow the steps: (1) filtering by the bait sequence (2) Canu de novo assembly (3) Reconstruction of the sequences available in the database.
