POSE 3.2.3: Sustainability goals, metrics, and measurement
The proposal says:
Sustainability goals will help us choose an organizational model, and their metrics will serve as criteria to evaluate whether the OSE is succeeding, or floundering and in need of attention. These sustainability goals are likely to include (1) Presence of core contributors from more than one funding source, (2) maintaining or increasing our current bus factor of 2, and (3) a recruitment rate of unaffiliated recurring contributors that meets or exceeds the attrition rate. The resulting OSE evaluation plan will include automated metrics as well as manual evaluation processes. These metrics will incorporate response times to requests from users, and quality and security targets as detailed in the Security Plan section of the Data Management Plan. Deliverable: Clear, documented sustainability goals, metrics, and measurement plan, including a gap analysis of Exosphere against the Passing-level criteria of the Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) Best Practices [49].
