Add EU OS branding to EU OS base image

  • screen background image with logo (it should come with an example how a public sector organisation would have both the EU OS Logo and their own logo)
  • start menu button
  • boot screen logo
  • ksplash launch screen without animation, but with blue-purple gradient already
  • ksplash launch screen with animation

Note that ngompa from the Fedoa forum proposed to help with this:

Also Yotam offered in the matrix chat on 10 April his designer skills.

My Inskcape files I used for the website (I insist that these files shall not be used for any sort of umbrella or spin-off projects floating around):

1st attempt to build a ksplash login for EU OS:

Further remarks:

  • all dimensions and sizes should be derived from the branding template that fedora offers (see links under references)
  • we do not have a logo or branding design guide and some person convinced me to wait with this and not fix things yet at this early stage
  • currently, we have two background variants for the white EU OS with 12 cursors:
    • solid blue in rounded-sqare shape (profile picture)
    • blue-purple gradient cloud (website)
  • I think unless for monochrome versions, we should use the gradient also in the first background case, because it adds more distinction of our logo from the EU flag (people on mastodon were in favour to add more distinction)
  • a decision must be made where RPMs for EU OS could be built. This is tracked in #28
