Optimize more scripts

This patch optimizes a few more scripts.

dm-maim needs testing I do not have maim or a multi-monitor setup, the code should work but I desperately need someone to help me test that script to ensure it actually works. You should see a bunch of comments around 56-77 which list in detail what I am doing code wise.

If there are any issues let me know and I'll try to send another patch to resolve the issue.
