A site builder automatically gets new blocks added by distribution features or can easily see which new ones are available
Currently working with the resources module and its updates which include facet blocks (yay!) but i'm pretty sure this is a general problem for which we need a general solution:
- A site builder changed to a custom theme, which may or may not be a subtheme of Octavia, early in their development.
- A contributed module, in particular a Drutopia feature, adds a new block.
- The site builder likely wants functional blocks (related content or other listings, facets, donation) to appear automatically, if possible. Default content placeholder blocks, probably not.
- In either case, the ideal site builder experience might be "These new blocks are available. Here is a preview (screenshot?) and suggested region; select region or reject the block." (If the block is rejected, it's still available through the usual blocks UI
The underlying premise is that the usual blocks UI, while less overwhelming than Drupal 7, makes the available blocks even more hidden, and regardless of what Drupal 8's core blocks UI may do there's an important distinction between all available blocks and the ones we've chosen to add to a Drutopia distribution as enabled and placed.
