split comment on local and global variables
in my opinion, putting together in the same bullet-point local and global variables is a mistake
those are 2 different things, therefore I suggest having having 2 separate bullet-points, also I think the LabVIEW style guideline describes the correct use of local, no? As I was taught from the start, the only use of the local variable is to set the value of a control, e.g. when loading a default value from a config file or if a change of operating mode forces the software to change the value of a control NI should remove the "read local variable" it only encourages poor design and any good guide-line should forbid read-mode locals
about globals I don't have much to say but I liked the comment about having a VI to store a constant values.
