Talking to smtp server with plain auth fails: "Lost connection after AUTH"
Context
This report is possibly related to #90 (closed).
Sending mails to an smtp server using "PLAIN TEXT" and "UNENCRYPTED" as authentication method fails: I get the "message queued" notification, then the mail sits in the outbox for some time and finally is found in the drafts folder (presumably, because it could not be sent).
Looking at the log of the smtp server, I see the line "Lost connection after AUTH from unknown ([IP-address-of-my-Ubuntu-Phone])." This means that Dekko has reached the smtp server and even has authenticated with it, but then the connection is lost.
Since I can successfully connect and send mails with other mail clients (like Thunderbird) using the same settings, I believe that Dekko is causing the problem.
Sending mails to GMail's smtp server works fine, but this uses SSL/TLS auth, so I think Dekko may have a problem with the smtp protocol after PLAIN/UNENCRYPTED auth.
Expected Behavior
Dekko should send mails to this server after PLAIN/UNENCRYPTED auth.
Actual Behavior
Mail is queued but not sent. After some time it is moved to the drafts folder.
Steps to Reproduce
Set up an smtp server with PLAIN/UNENCRYPTED auth and try to send mail to it with Dekko.
