Deploy kernel in 7.6 release
Kernel deployment causes app-base to not properly deploy in an unassisted mode. It was pulled back not for its technical issues. It was tested and looked ok but because it uses some upstream packages it would block app-base until the repos had been deployed. This means that if the app-base was manually updated, it would work ok. But if the kernel was bundled, it would barf.
There are two ways to do this:
- release kernel a week or more after the 7.6 updates were deployed. The downside is that it could interfere with a few update laggards. It's not a big deal and will resolve itself once os is deployed.
- release kernel at the same time for community, business, and home by deploying it in the os dir for the distro on mirrors.
Option 2 is ok if there is enough feedback of people that decide to deploy the kernel voluntarily using:
yum --enablerepo=clearos-updates-testing update kernel
