Infer Local Maxima

The provided script tackles the problem of accurately determining the precise location of local maxima in an oscillating signal, even when the sampling resolution may not align perfectly with the maxima. The approach involves using a Lagrangian interpolant with three points to fit a quadratic function that represents the local curvature between two sample points. From this parabola, the maximum value, position, and width are analytically obtained.
