Legal concerns / licensing / patents?
Hi there,
Took a quick look at the most recent compiled manuscript & didn't see a nice summary of the legal landscape for open source hardware, although it was mentioned in passing in a few places. I.e., from this Q&A session with the Opentrons founder (direct link to Q timestamp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T51bz4ZuJXE&t=3065s). I got the take away that the legal concepts surrounding hardware are heterogenous & there may be not really a good way to "open source" certain aspects. It would be nice to have a high level summary of the types of legal/IP concepts that apply to hardware & what the most open options are. Unfortunately I know nothing in this space so would recommend another person contribute this summary
All the best, -Tim
