Resolve "Creating an invitation fails hard if the `message` is not provided"

My understanding of this issue is that you can only make it "fail hard" if you directly call the endpoint without a "message" key in the provided JSON? This is because without this fix I can make and send group invites without typing in a message and it works correctly.
