More than one field returned for linked table entry
Feature description
When creating a column of type “link to a table”, in each cell it is possible to choose one entry, hence one row, of a different specific table. Nevertheless, the value that ends up written in the cell is only the one in the first column of the linked table. It should be possible to display more than one column for the same value in the same cell.
Examples
Suppose I have a table events
that, among many others, contains the host
column. Now suppose I have one other table, named people
, which lists all of the hosts; it has several columns such as name
, surname
, email
…
Now, I want the host
column to link to an entry of people
. I can choose one or more people to appear in one cell of the hosts
column, and for each selected person it appears the name
only. Nevertheless, some people could have the same name
, and it is required to display also the surname
to effectively understand who is the host
for that event. For this reason, printing in the events
cell not only the first value of the linked people
row would be very useful.
