backup to a local folder fails with: You need to connect your Gmail account first
The description on f-droid says "Saving to a local folder allows you to backup it using an app like Syncthing." I thus chose an empty directory on my SD card using the button SMS Storage and then clicked on BACKUP. I get the message Login Information You need to connect your Gmail account first and my SMS are not copied into the directory I selected. I do not want to copy to a IMAP account. I want to copy to a directory on my SD card that I'll then backup using syncthing. Syncthing provides end-to-end encryption which is important to me.
The description on f-droid.org says that it is possible to save to a local directory. Can this be implemented or fixed? I have SMS Gate v1.9.10 on LineageOS 16.0.20191114-NIGHTLY-kiwi (Android 9).
Thanks for SMS Gate.
