FEATURE REQ: Permit translation img src tags to permit inlining as b64encode in HTML5 output
As an advanced user, I've simply customized my conf file with preembedded b64encodes of images for the various icons/badges/images I use in my outputs. There are a few issues with this approach.
- When using plugins (like latex math) which output an image and link to it, these don't get inlined without modifying the filter plugin.
- My users get frustrated when they want to include additional images, as the b64encode burns up a bunch of space in thier doc.
For 1, modifying every random filter they want to use would be a big time consumer.
For 2, I've encouraged creation of image.png.b64 documents and the use of the include::image.png.b64[] directive to streamline this a bit.
I am working on a branch to solve this issue, though I wanted to make sure someone else didn't already have a better solution before divulging time into it. Realistically, I probably won't be able to get to this for a few months, but expect a PR at some point if someone doesn't get to this before I do.
As an aside, thank you AD3 team. You're work is a vital part of my personal and work tooling.
