Update Python Interpreter Version Requirements
This project's top-level README
states that "the Python utilities require a minimum of Python 3.3." However,
- There are Python 2 compatibility shims in the codebase.
- Python < 3.7 has been End-Of-Lifed.
Is there any interest in removing these shims and/or updating minimum interpreter version requirements? If yes to the latter, is there interest in taking advantage of features that have been introduced in Python 3.4 - 3.7? Examples of new features include type annotations, formatted string literals, and asyncio
.
