The magic segment in the start_paths pattern for a content source should ignore hidden folders by default
A magic segment in the start_paths pattern for a content source should not match hidden folders, which are folders that begin with a dot (.
). For example, start_paths: '*'
should not match .git
.
The one exception is if the magic pattern segment begins with .
(including inside a brace expression). In that case, it will ONLY match hidden folders. For example, start_paths: .*
should match .git
.
Therefore, to match all folders, you'd need to use two patterns, start_paths: .*, *
or start_paths: '{.*,*}'
(matches non-hidden folders and all hidden folders).
By making this change, the user would intentionally have to configure the start path to match hidden folder, thus avoiding surprises.
