Neve Ellis bug report
Hello,
I've been using this addon for my grease pencil animations. It's a great addon that's helped me out massively but I've found a few issues.
Firstly I've found that when I use the Box Deform tool in the bundled Grease Pencil Tools addon with the Onion Skin Addon enabled, Blender crashes.
The process to replicate this is: • Make sure Onion Skin button is turned on in the addon • Go into Edit Mode on Grease Pencil object • Select a Grease Pencil stroke and enable Box Deform in the Grease Pencil Tools addon • Hit Enter - Blender will then crash If I turn the Onion Skin button off I can use the Box Deform as normal, but I like to use the onion skin as reference.
I've had another couple of issues as well. I've found that I have to change from the default 'Object' setting to 'Camera' or 'World' and then back to 'Object' to get all the onion skin layers to show up underneath. Is this normal?
The other thing is that I've had some issues with onion skin images showing up on screen during playback. After doing a basic test I've found this happens after the 4th keyframe, with the 3rd keyframe displaying during playback. This is using the default settings of '2 before' and '2 after'- different onion skin images will stay on screen during playback depending on how many frames before or after are chosen. My only workaround for this is to turn off the onion skin for playback.
I'm using Blender 3.5 with Linux Mint 21 Vanessa, though I had the same problems with Blender 3.4 and Linux Mint 20 Uma too. I've been able to replicate these issues on my MacBook Air also.
Thanks
