daemoniacal web server
Final Release Note
Description
It is desirable for the web server to be able to run as a daemon. Since it is an M process, redirecting stdout and stderr, and starting as a background process can keep its output clear of the starting shell session. However to truly isolate from the shell session, e.g., to immunize it from signals, it should be able to start as a JOB'd process, with the parent process terminating after the JOB. This can be accomplished with a --daemonize
command line option, accompanied by a --log
option where the stdout and stderr of the JOB'd process are directed.
