Debloated packages reappear after a reboot
Google Pixel 4a Android Version 11 latest january 5th security patch, maybe related to my other issue #45 (closed)
When this script was used the second time, it doesn't debloat anymore. Following steps were taken to reproduce the issue:
- Factory reset my phone
- Enabling usb debugging
- Using the script to debloat Google list
- Rebooting phone
- All Google apps removed, bingo
- Re-running the script to debloat AOSP apps
- Rebooting the phone
- AOSP apps not removed, re-running the script shows AOSP apps will get disabled again with many success notifications
- Rebooting the phone
- Same issue, all AOSP apps still enabled, re-running the script has no effect
- Same issue with other lists (for example Carriers, External lists, custom debloat packages)
Edit: After re-running the script against the AOSP debloat list five times, with a reboot after each try, it worked. The debloat script seems to not work multiple times and it's reoccuring with other lists. The first run after a factory works every time, afterwards it's struggling.
Tested with multiple PCs and the latest android ADB tools.
Used ADB version: Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.41 Version 30.0.5-6877874 Installed as /usr/lib/android-sdk/platform-tools/adb
