Resolve "Fix broken includes in REST API documentation"

This is about as far as we can go without support for producing documentation in unit tests, which I have in another branch, but need some more time to integrate. I think this is valuable as is, although not complete. The Asciidoctor Gradle plugin was updated to get rid of some false warnings that were no issue.
