More detailed terrain
Currently Morrowind uses 128x128 yd
cell size (2x2 yd
- one face) in exterior cell. Other TES/Fallout games use 64x64 yd
cell with same 2x2 yd
(or ~1.83 m
) face size.
I propose to add option to use 1x1 yd
(or ~0.91 m
) face size when create new .omwgame. It gives us ability to sculpt more high quality and realistic terrain. I'm sure that our new LOD system will be able to render it without performance hit.
For example, terrain resolution in different games/engines:
- UE4 default landscape: 1 m
- Far Cry 5: 0.5 m
- Witcher 3: less than 0.5 m.
