Spoken dialog clickable for audio
I know a lot of people really like the fact that in Morrowind, most of the dialog has to be read. I also know that for projects like Morroblivion and Skywind, a lot of the dialog for Morrowind has been recorded by volunteers.
Would it be possible to create an accommodation in the engine so that if someone wanted to download the spoken dialog and use it they could?
They way I have it in my head is that if someone has the audio files for the dialog it will not automatically play when the dialog is given by a character in the game. Rather, once the dialog has been given in the reading area it is perhaps clickable, or there is a little button on the side of it that is clickable. If the player clicks for the option to hear the dialog, then the audio file will play. If the player clicks goodbye while the audio is still playing then it will stop. If the player clicks on a different part of the conversation, then the old audio will stop and the new audio will start.
I don't know how much trouble or work would be needed for this but it might be interesting to implement. Just for full disclosure, I got the idea while watching the SFDEBRIS opinionated play through of System Shock.
