OnePlus 6 Camera sometimes looses focus just when taking a picture
Expected Behavior
The default camera with the default resolution should always work correctly and produce clear images.
Current Behavior
Currently the camera will sometime:
- Focus correctly on touch, showing a clear live view.
- Defocus just when clicking the photo trigger, producing a really blurry picture.
This is happening for relatively close subjects (~1m and less).
This is unfortunately not reproducible 100% of the time. Sometimes (but not always) after reboot the focus will work as expected. Usually (but not always) it will become broken after some days of use.
Workaround
The camera defaults to the (4:3) 15,9 megapixels resolution. Switching to (4:3) 12 megapixels fixes the issue. Reverting to (4:3) 15,9 megapixels makes the issue happen again.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the default camera app.
- Target a relatively close subject (<1m) and tap the screen to focus.
- Notice the focus is OK and the live preview on screen is perfectly clear.
- Tap the photo trigger circle on screen to take a picture.
- Notice that the camera changes the focus to something really blurry on tap just before saving the picture.
- Check in the pictures app that the photo is indeed very blurry.
This is reproducible on 2 different devices bought at 2 different times.
