Mi A1: cellular signal strength bug when connecting to bluetooth car system
Expected Behavior
When connecting my mi A1 to my car audio system, the cellular signal strenght should be coherent with the signal strength shown by the phone itself.
Current Behavior
As soon as I connect the phone to the car system via bluetooth, I get the correct signal strength, but after a while, the car displays a question mark indicating no signal, while on the phone the signal is present. With this kind of problem I'm not able to start a call from the car system, while I'm able to start a call from the phone. When using the stock Mi A1 firmware, I've had the same problem with earlier versions, while with the last updates, it was about a year or so that the problem was fixed.
Possible Solution
Looking at some old posts, around 2018, it seemed that moving the SIM from slot 1 to slot 2 'solved' the issue, but it is not viable since I will have to renounce the microSD
Steps to Reproduce
- enable bluetooth outside the car
- enter the car and let the phone to connect to the car system
- see that the signal strength is correct and wait a second
- then the signal strength drops to a question mark
