Exploring new Chrome Windows UX
Hi Edu Campi, as response to our LinkedIn conversation. I would like to discuss with you opportunities to make the Chrome Windows experience more seamless. If you are open to it, you can reach out to me at Discord Carl#0262 to have a chat.
Some use cases I think of:
- Keyboard-driven window navigation. If I have multiple Chrome windows open, it seems only possible to switch with mouse clicks.
- Easy discoverability of open windows. Many times I have challenges to find the open windows.
- Keyboard-driven switching between profiles. I have many profiles set up due to multi-tenant credentials. Maybe the Firefox model of separate credentials per tab would benefit Chrome as well.
- Bookmark-to-tab integration. I should be able to navigate to particular tabs by clicking on bookbarks. This way I can configure my own process oriented navigation towards open / to-be-opened tabs.
- Grouped tabs. I am eager to discover the usability of the upcoming feature. I current don't use Chrome Beta, maybe I should.
- Mini apps that contain links to tabs including interactive thumbnails. For example this could be helpful in enriching the Azure DevOps webapp experience. Many times I have multiple tabs to particular areas in this application. It would be great to have Chrome as a platform where I could write some easy scripts that would really formalize the way Chrome and Azure DevOps work together.
I tried to sort the use cases from simple to hard.
