π Hi, I'm Ed.
Right now π§π»βπ»
I'm a software engineer who's been building and leading teams for over 30 years, and I still love diving into complex projects and teaching others the craft.
I'm currently at MITRE working on government projects, but I have worked in the private sector for AT&T and ADP.
Why I'm on GitLab π
I love everything about GitLab, the features, collaborators, and overall vibe. I use it everywhere:
- GitLab open-source contributions
- Work and personal projects
- GitLab administration at school
- In the classroom, which brings me to...
My passion for teaching π
What started out as a side gig has become an extremely fulfilling experience. I teach Computer Science courses part-time at Monmouth University and Brookdale Community College, helping to align the programs with industry trends.
Where it all began π₯οΈ
I wrote my first computer program on a Timex Sinclair 1000. It was a wonderfully executed endless loop that sparked a decades-long career:
10 print "Hello"
20 GOTO 10
When I'm not working, I enjoy
spending time with my family π©β𦳠π§π» π§π» π¦π»
fishing at the Jersey Shore π£
trying to play golf ποΈββοΈ
