CardBook causes Thunderbird window to resize vertically larger than display window

🐜 bug

summary

After the last update (Nov 2, 2020) the Thunderbird vertical window size, on start up, was larger than the display window even though at previous shut down it was not set in that manner. The bottom window border was not visible. Attempts to resize the window by "grabbing" the top border fail.

steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Install and activate CardBook
  2. Start or restart Thunderbird

current behavior

(what actually happens following the steps above) Attempt to resize the TBird window and it will not allow vertical motion. Horizontal resize is not affected.

expected behavior

(what you should see instead) The previously set window size should appear and the vertical resizing should be enabled.

more details/evidence

  1. With CardBook installed but disabled via the TBird "Add-ons Manager" the normal vertical sizing works. You can see the vertical size change if you enable/disable CardBook in the "Add-ons Manager" tab.

1a. If you Enable CardBook the window will expand vertically and the vertical window resizing will not function. If you then Disable Cardbook the vertical resizing will function correctly.

  1. With Cardbook enabled (and the vertical resizing not working) open the CardBook tab and you will be able to resize the Tbird window. This appears to be set until the next time TBird is stopped and restarted.
