Merlin app crashes when recording audio

- CalyxOS version: 5.6.3
Brief description of the issue
The Merlin app is unable to record sound, which is used to identify birds by audio recordings. This problem had been seen in the Fairphone OS release The problem has recently been fixed in the Fairphone release of the OS.
Steps to reproduce
Install Merlin Bird ID app from Aurora Open it Click on Sound ID It will say "Listening for birds..." Let it run for 15 seconds Click on red stop icon
Expected result
Audio is saved. Audio is analyzed for bird songs Clicking on "My Sound Recordings" shows newly recorded audio.
Actual result
After a few seconds, a message occurs which says "An error occurred. Please try again later." There is a continually rotating circle, until the back arrow is pressed, which returns to normal Merlin screen Clicking on "My Sound Recordings" does not show an added sound recording
