feature request: please add NTFS / exFAT support for OTG thumb drives
Basic info
- Device: I guess all of them
- CalyxOS version: some future one obvs
Brief description of the feature
Enable NTFS and/or exFAT support for OTG thumb drives. There are a handful of NTFS implementations out there with varying degree of open-ness
Right now I have to rely on Paragon product and it's a nasty, glitchy mess (despite costing money) that has on several occasions corrupted flash drives
having a clean, integrated implementation would be a blessing.
having a clean, integrated implementation that would allow exposing flash to work profile (and especially Calyx's secondary-user work profile ;-) ) would be a double-blessing
but I probably could live with an implementation that works only with device owner or device-owner and secondary user (shuttling files into work profiles via say FX file manager or something) as long as it doesn't suddenly die and kill the flash drive like Paragon's driver does
Other ROMs with the same / similar feature (preferably open source)
Real old crunchy stuff https://github.com/Lurker00/Android-fs
Less crunchy GPL 2.0 stuff

Any other info
EDITED TO ADD
Google tells me that android should recognize exFAT after version 13 but so far I've not been able to make it roll with CalyxOS except through Paragon's dire thingie
