Aurora Store 4.4.4 downloads and reinstalls on startup, in an endless loop
Description
After updating to Aurora Store 4.4.4, the app downloads and re-installs tue current version after it's launched, on an endless loop.
Expected Behaviour
Normal usage
Actual Behaviour
The app, after the loading screen, seemingly downloads and re-installs Aurora Store, every time it's launched. This makes normal usage impossible if you have a fast Internet connection. If I use throttled mobile data, I can access the app again, for some time, before it's downloaded and re-installed again.
Steps to Reproduce
-
Install Aurora Store 4.4.3
-
Update to 4.4.4
-
Start the app
-
It should start downloading, and then reinstalling Aurora Store
Environment
- Android version: 14
- OS: PixysOS 7.1.2 (custom ROM)
- Aurora Store version: 4.4.4
- Account Type: Anonymous
- Device model & codename: Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (spes)
Logcat
Logcat log: https://privatebin.net/?4a3f56651d61834b#2BtSNFSNTETvfwbjghnTUsLvaZg1MP57GcQpHdVLGehn
In the log I: Launch Aurora Store, it downloads and reinstalls the app, then I go to the system settings, clear the cache and force stop the app, then I start Aurora Store again, with the same behaviour as before.>
Possible solution
As seen in my comment below, it seems like the app update does not retain or set the Auto-update preference, which might trigger an infinite download loop of the app. You have to cancel the download on startup, then you can safely navigate to the Settings screen and set the preference. This should fix the issue.
