Descriptions failing to load after a few seconds, followed by failed installs
In the normal mode (non-recovery), as icons and descriptions load in the background, eventually the app store will somehow "hang", preventing app icons from showing, or installations from occurring. Steps to reproduce:
- Launch the app store from the homebrew launcher.
- Wait about a minute or so for icons to load.
- Scroll down and select an application that isn't currently shown on screen.
- Note that one or both of the appicon or the description are missing or replaced with "n/a".
- Attempt to install the application by pressing A.
- Note that you've been kicked back to the app list and that no install took place.
Alternatively:
- Launch the app store
- Pick an app to install
- Install it
- Scroll down and select an app that isn't currently shown.
- Note the missing app icons and/or description
- Attempt to install
- Note that nothing happens and you're kicked back to the app list.
This doesn't seem to be reproducible in recovery mode (likely because of the lack of a background thread doing downloads for this data).
