dlColorBlend and dlColorBlendMulti lack shader fragments
It is hard to preview shading network with dlColorBlend and dlColorBlendMulti in the viewport.
These two utilities are useful also in animation (as they replace the unsupported Maya LayeredTexture) for example when doing texture projections for eyes with 2 or more color layers.
Scene attached. You can see that the shader in the viewport is flat colored but when rendering you get the expected result of dlColorBlend.

ALTERNATIVE:
IF you don't want to write a shader fragment for this, then the alternative is adding support to Maya's LayeredTexture utility node and rely on its use (and benefit from the viewport preview offered by maya's shader fragments).
