As conversation continued here I'm re-using this issue for the visual upgrades to the page, which have been more thoroughly fleshed out below.

Also another note: the thumbnail for the minds.com/mobile URL is pulling a channel avatar called @mobile -- we should replace this image with either the banner of this splash page, or the image of someone using the mobile app which i believe @Quitejane created.

Cool, I like it. can also link those bullet points through to help-desk entries where we can have a visual step-by-step without eating up space on the page.

The only addition that I have is that we aren't advertising the RC branch - presumably we could put it at the bottom, alongside the release history.
