crash while using stacks

This crash occurs any time and any place. I have not been able to reproduce it. I suspect it only happens on certain hardware under certain conditions.

The crash reports indicate a bad memory free or double-free while rendering edit-mode content. My guess is that one of the state variables used in the crashing method is being mutated while the method running causing overlapping ARC calls.
