Community Event: Yaook Developer Days (working title)
As announced in the last Fortnightly, we’re planning an event for the Yaook Community! The goal is to
- finally see each other in person and simply have a good time together with some social activities and
- take some time for working on specific Yaook topics for which we usually don't have enough time and which are easier to discuss in person
This event should be tailored to you needs and wishes, so I need your input.
Here’s the current state of planning:
- When? In November 2023 or January 2024
- How long? 2 – 3 Days
- Where? STACKIT (Neckarsulm)
- Who? The Yaook community – no “outside world”
How about the What?:
The overall idea is to split the event into…
Day 1: Start with Social / Get-to-know-Event -> Opening Speech incl. ALASCA-relation, Introduction Round, Social Event (dinner or something)
Day 2 & 3: All things Yaook, different session formats -> Options: Deep Dives, Workshops, Hackathon (collaborative coding), Roadmap planning, Code Review Sessions,...
Ideas that came to my mind based on some of your feedback in the past:
Goals & Scope of Yaook (Workshop?) Create common definition of the goal we want to achieve with Yaook and also what is in and out of scope for us. -> Helps us to more easily see what things we would like to accept and what not.
Roadmap & Milestones (Workshop?) Build roadmap for Yaook and define milestones.
From here on, I'd like to plan the event together with the community, so:
What other topics would you like to tackle in the event? Which format would you think is most appropriate for that topic? Doesn’t have to be super precise yet. Drop any ideas here – it does not mean that you’re automatically responsible for the execution of the idea!
Also, if you have any other ideas (or concerns) for the event, also share them here.
Thank you!
